Application: All Front Steer Racks For Mustang II Car & Truck IFS
Finally a brand new (not rebuilt) rack and pinion to fit all Mustang II front steer car IFS units. There are early and late versions of the original M-II rack with different mount placement. The bolt hole centers on this new style are 15.50″ c 2 c. You may need to remove and re-attach your crossmember mounts or oval out one mount hole on your CM if your cross member was made for the 16″ original manual racks. There are also offset bushing kits to accomodate this. Most later truck IFS kits typically require end spacers to adapt to the wider vehicles track. 2″ & 4″ rack end spacers are availble…please inquire. Rack is 45″ from outer threaded rods tip to tip.
This is a “bolt in” rack that with standard threaded ends that take M-II rod ends (like tie rod ends). Rod ends are available below. The steering input shaft is 3/4″ 36 spline. It is a different spline count vs. the manual rack. If converting from a manual to power you will need to swap out the U-joint that mates to the steering rod. Rubber mount bushings included.
